Carnival parade

Saturday 29 May 2010 from 12 noon at Victoria Square

GET INVOLVED IN YOUR PARADE!  If you can help out with sewing, building, designing, painting and lending your creative flare to Birmingham Pride, then come along and help out!

Launched from Victoria Square at 12 noon on Sat 29 May 2010, the procession will wind its way down New Street, and include other streets like Temple Street, Temple Row, Colmore Row and Bull Street. Then, this year (for definite!) the procession will continue right into the heart of the Gay Village area for festival-goers to continue the celebrations.

The theme this year is celebrating 'Equality Over The Decades' to recognise the equality the LGBT community have achieved since 1967 when homosexuality was legalised.  The message will be evident in the parade, which will see hundreds of people making their way through the streets on foot, alongside a large number of superbly decorated motorised trucks.

And it's NOT too late to get involved and enter a float either 'motorised or walking' - including those with a 'political' message. Anyone interested in participating in the parade should urgently contact keith@birminghampride.com or samuel@birminghampride.com

We are pleased to acknowledge that the Birmingham gay venues and their customers have been raising funds through bucket collections and fundraisers to underwrite the infrastructure costs associated with this year's Carnival Parade
