Visit Birmingham
Ok, it may be Pride that you’re here for, but you’ve still got to eat, drink and sleep (oh, and shop!). With that in mind, check out the information below, and have a great time in bostin’ Birmingham (as the Brummies might say!).
Accommodation
Birmingham has accommodation to suit every taste and budget. The city centre provides over 7,500 bed spaces. Included among the places to stay is the The Radisson Blu Hotel, the Crowne Plaza, the Holiday Inn, and the Plough & Harrow. There are also excellent rooms at the Gay Village venue The Fountain.
Eating out
Whether you’re looking for a quick snack or something more substantial, Birmingham offers lots of choice when it comes to eateries and cuisine. The city centre boasts numerous high-profile restaurants, and offers plenty of choice for anybody interested in Chinese, Indian, Italian, French, Spanish, South American and North American food. If you fancy grabbing something to eat without venturing too far from the Gay Village and all the Pride action, then head for the award-winning Loft Lounge.
Shopping
As no shortage of visitors to Birmingham will be able to testify, one of the great add-on benefits of making the trip to Brum for the city’s Pride festival is the fantastic opportunity it provides to shop, shop, shop! The redeveloped Bullring complex is Europe’s biggest indoor shopping centre, and includes the architecturally stunning Selfridges store. Why not check out The Mailbox, too, or just take a wander around the city centre - it really is a shopper’s paradise! indoor shopping centre, and includes the architecturally stunning Selfridges store.
