We're pleased to reveal this year's festival site plan for Birmingham Pride, supported by HSBC, which will feature our biggest ever Main Stage arena with a significantly increased capacity.
This year the Main Stage sponsored by Virgin Trains will be situated on the huge car park at the top of Bromsgrove Street (down from The Wellington). The Main Stage area will feature the events biggest ever stage, which will feature headliners Years and Years, plus ta large food court, beer garden with picnic table seating, and funfair rides.
Meanwhile, the Cabaret Marquee will move from its former site to where the Main Stage arena was last year (next to The Loft). The Los Angeles Cabaret Stage will also feature a food court and beer garden next to the marquee.
The Mixmag Dance Arena, whilst being situated in the same place as last year, will be staged in a marquee, and the access to it will be via Hurst Street, rather than Lower Essex St as last year. The area will also feature funfair rides adjacent to it.
The increasingly popular Future Stage, sponsored by Spindle, will be located once again on the Ground Floor of The Nightingale, whilst the brand new Lip-Sync Stage will be situated on the middle floor of the venue.
Birmingham Pride Festival Director, Lawrence Barton commented, "This is by far our most ambitious festival site plan to date. There are lots of exciting changes, including a massive outdoor main stage, where headliners Years & Years will perform an exclusive hour long live set on the Saturday and also The Human League our headliners on the Sunday."
"We're all extremely excited, I think visitors will see a noticeable difference this year, and the significant investment that's been made to help ensure that our visitors have an even greater festival experience".
Birmingham Pride takes place on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May, in Birmingham's Gay Village.
